Kelleher, a graduate of Boston State College with a B.S.
in Elementary Education, was a fourth grade teacher in
Everett, Massachusetts for over ten years. During these
years, John also performed musical comedy throughout the
Boston area. Coming from a musically talented family,
John has an innate appreciation and respect for the
connection between music and its effect on children’s
development.
Since leaving the teaching profession in
1989, John has become a recognized name in the Children’s music industry. Performing over 250 shows
annually, John has attained national and international
prominence with highly acclaimed performances across the
United States and Canada, including back-by-popular
demand performances at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Tampa, FL; Andy Griffith Playhouse, Mount Airy,
NC; Bethlehem Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA; Longwood
Gardens in Philadelphia, PA; and countless theaters,

America. After performing at the Northern Alberta
International Children’s Festival in St. Albert, Canada,

John's dynamic
and inspiring programs for young audiences (as well as
Moms, Dads, and Grandparents) balance timely messages of
environmental conservation, cultural diversity, positive
behavior, self-esteem, and drug abuse awareness with
music, comedy, visual props, and lots of audience
participation. John's first recording,
Party in
the Park, was a winner of the prestigious
Parents' Choice Gold Award. In regard to this recording, Parent's Choice Magazine says: "For giggles and
fun, it would be hard to beat this snappy, teasing grab
bag of children's music favorites. John's vocals light
up this top quality musical treat."
John lives near
